Cape Town welcomed two new arrivals of its largest remaining predator, as two Caracal kittens were spotted in Kirstenbosch in September 2021. Locals are understandably excited to see them, but the Urban Caracal Project feels that they should remind garden visitors to practice ethical wildlife photography.
They are asking the public to not get too close to the cats, and ensure you are not getting in the way of important activities, like hunting. The Urban Caracal Project recommends keeping at least 25m away.
