A tall mug of hot chocolate, the thickest gloves and the sturdiest pair of boots are required if the latest weather report issued by the South African Weather Service if anything to go by.
Winter is coming… and it’s going to be a bitterly cold one. Earlier this week, the SAWS issued a report detailing “bitterly cold conditions,” including snowfall in some parts of the Western Cape.
Well, the snowfall is here! While the Western Cape may not be the French Alps, which provide the perfect snowy adventure for those who love frolicking in the fluffy stuff, our province is home to some picturesque mountain ranges that give us a taste of what living in an Alpine region may be like.
One such mountain range is Matroosberg and word on the street is that a flurry of snow has trickled down and softly landed on the mountain.
“The very first dusting of snow on Matroosberg. The season is really late this year, but hopefully, this is the promise of great snow to follow. Keep warm and be Blessed.”
Matroosberg is renowned for gracing us with gorgeous snow-covered mountainscapes, offering the perfect picture for those looking to enjoy snow-filled winter – sort of.
While we may have to squint to catch a glimpse of the light snow dustings, if the weather holds, we may just get a snowy treat.
