The South African Weather Service (SAWS) released a level 5 weather warning today, indicating the likelihood of severe rainfall and thunderstorms in the western areas of the Western Cape.

A video is now circulating on community WhatsApp groups of flooding on the road between Touwsriver and Laingsburg N1.
Touwsriver/Laingsburg N1 is located between Worcester and Beaufort West.
There have also been reports of blackouts in the area (not loadshedding related). The Worcester fire department told Cape {town} Etc that a distribution box has been struck by lightning.
