Police have apparently made a breakthrough in the murder of rapper Kiernan Forbes, known as AKA, with at least three suspects arrested in Cape Town on Sunday.

It is believed that the arrests came yesterday after police monitored the suspects during the course of the week.
While police would not confirm the arrests yesterday, IOL reports that a source close to the investigation into the rapper’s killing said that the suspects were arrested in Cape Town and were in police custody.
They will now be transported to Durban, where they are expected to be charged.
When contacted for comment, Western Cape police spokesperson Colonel André Traut, referred questions about the arrest to the KwaZulu-Natal police.
‘It is a KZN case, should we get any information, it will be sent to them. You should contact them for information,’ he told IOL, declining to confirm whether the suspects were in fact arrested in Cape Town.
Meanwhile, KZN police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda would also not confirm the arrest.
‘We have not received any update on the AKA case,’ he said.
The incident occurred in February when AKA and his friend Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane were gunned down on Florida Road in Durban.
They were standing outside the Wish restaurant when an assailant walked up to him and shot him in the head, killing him instantly.
The shooting was caught on video, which has been widely shared.
In a recent interview, his bodyguard Anwar ‘Dogg’ Khan underscored the importance of security measures for public figures, especially those in the entertainment industry. This development sparked further discussion and raised concerns about the security protocols in place for artists and their entourages.
Khan said he would have advised AKA not to go to Wish that night.
