Grammy-award-winning rock band Green Day will be joining The Offspring and Fokofpolisiekar in Cape Town for one magical evening in January 2025.

The trio, comprised of vocalist and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist and backing vocalist Mike Dirnt, and drummer Tré Cool, will headline the next Calabash South Africa music festival.
The festival is scheduled for January 19, 2025, at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, and January 23, 2025, at the DHL Stadium in Cape Town.

With a three-decade legacy and five Grammy awards, the boys are well-known for hit songs such as ‘Dookie’, ‘Basket Case’ and ‘American Idiot.’
The musical showcase, dubbed ‘the biggest summer concerts,’ will feature a variety of artists, including international punk-rock band The Offspring and local favourites Fokofpolisiekar.
According to the media release, ‘with infectious energy and catchy tunes, they will bring their timeless classics such as “Self Esteem” and “Pretty Fly (for a White Guy)” to the Calabash stage.’

Meanwhile, Fokofpolisiekar will perform their unique blend of punk and alternative rock.
This year’s Calabash South Africa was a music lover’s dream, with performances by Grammy Award winners Maroon 5, Keane, Meduza and Ava Max, as well as local talents Will Linley and Lloyiso.
The next edition promises an electrifying night, ‘writing a new chapter in South Africa’s rock and roll legacy.’
