A constable attached to the Ravensmead South African Police Service (SAPS) survived an attempt on his life on Friday morning.

According to Captain FC van Wyk, spokesperson for the SAPS, the constable was dropped off from work in Conroy Street, Peerless Park North, Kraaifontein, when an unknown assailant attacked him. He stabbed the right side of his neck.
The motive for the attack was not that of robbery.
‘He was taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment. All his belongings were still with him,’ Van Wyk told Cape {town} Etc.
