The eco-conscious Gonana Collection, owned by Swedish entrepreneur and interior designer Jonas Sandström, offers luxurious but relaxed contemporary accommodations, including its flagship Gonana Guesthouse, two pet-friendly, self-catering houses with breathtaking sea views and its newest additions, the exclusive three-bedroom Coral Villa and three separate studios: Scallop, Oyster and Mussel.
For Swedish owner and entrepreneur Jonas Sandström, opening a guesthouse and self-catering houses in Paternoster was a natural next step.
Jonas has created a sustainable Afro-Scandi space where we can reconnect with ourselves, each other and the planet, inspired by the landscape, people and light.
The Gonana Collection’s flagship, the Guesthouse, has the enviable distinction of being Paternoster’s very first sustainable living and eco-friendly guesthouse, and it is now happily celebrating 1 000 days of business with a fantastic special.
With applicable terms and conditions and availability subject to change, the Gonana Guesthouse Celebration’s ‘R1 000 only’ Special is valid for the entire month of May 2023 and allows a special stay for only R1 000 per room, per night, per couple sharing.
Gonana Guesthouse is effectively off the grid and entirely environmentally ethical, with eight ensuite guest rooms, seven with their own terraces or balconies and one apartment, a fully equipped double storey with a kitchenette that can serve as a self-catering unit or as a bed and breakfast.
The guesthouse is self-sufficient, solar-powered and unaffected by loadshedding; its water is recycled; plastic usage is minimal; and chemicals are prohibited.
The gardens are indigenous and water-wise; the decor is natural and sourced locally; everything is fresh and organic; and it adheres to the ‘buying local, thinking global’ philosophy.
Apart from the Guesthouse, Gonana Collection’s other accommodation options include two fully furnished, pet-friendly, self-catering houses: the one-bedroomed, three-sleeper Aloe House and the 2022 Afristay Pet-Friendly Destination awardee, the two-bedroomed, four-sleeper Acacia House, which offer the ideal option for those seeking privacy; and its most recent additions: three self-catering, separate Scallop, Oyster and Mussel Studios; and the exclusive three-roomed Coral Villa.
These are also solar-powered and unaffected by loadshedding.
Its ‘Pay 2, Stay 3’ Winter Warmer Special is valid for all bookings from June 1 to August 31, 2023. Terms and conditions apply, and this special is also subject to availability.
Named after the isiZulu word for ’embrace,’ Gonana Collection is a proudly LGBTQ-friendly and inclusive space for all who enjoy and appreciate nature and are environmentally conscious.
