There’s a spring in our step, and not just because it’s the long weekend. While a few chops on the braai washed down with a couple of refreshing beers sound like a great way to spend the weekend, the Mother City is bursting with tons of exciting activities beyond the braai grid.
The theme for this weekend is adventure and, boy, is there plenty. Here are a few of our favourite weekend activities for all our adrenaline junkies.
Kayak with the dolphins
Start off slow and steady with Atlantic Outlook as one of their experienced guides take you on a relaxing adventure with a few dolphins and perhaps a penguin or two.
Tandem paragliding
Get ready to scream in fear or joy. Tandem paragliding is a thrilling adventure that takes place from Signal Hill or Lion’s Head and is the perfect way to gaze at the incredible views that Cape Town has to offer.
Sandboarding in Atlantis
Forget surfing, sandboarding is a great way to explore the rolling white dunes of Atlantis while satisfying your adrenaline junkie. Each session is 45 minutes and is a fun weekend activity to get up to.

If you’re looking for a heart-stopping activity, then spend your morning hanging off the side of Table Mountain – a unique way to enjoy the incredible views that Cape Town has to offer.
Water bike in Simon’s Town
Cycle on water with these fun bikes as you “bike” around Simon’s Town pier, past the naval base and towards Boulders Beach. It’s a fun and unique way to explore this area and will give you plenty of opportunities to spot the friendly neighbourhood seals and penguins.
