Cape Town’s star tennis youngster has done it again, achieving a new ranking in the Junior Top 12 just two months after achieving Top 20 in the ITF Junior Rankings.

On Wednesday, January 9, Tennis South Africa announced that Kholo Montsi (17) officially achieved the coveted ranking, saying, “What a moment for Kholo Montsi!”

The young upcoming sports professional attended the inaugural ATP Cup in Brisbane, Australia this week to represent his country. Montsi’s team achieved second place overall, beating out France for the coveted position.

Monti’s career seems to be heading nowhere but up after breaking into the Top 100 in 2019 and achieving an amazing ranking of 18th place in the Top 20 just months later, thanks to his five consecutive wins.

We can’t help but beam with pride alongside the rest of the nation as our very own outshines players across the world. In the coming months we may see Montsi achieve a Top 10 ranking or better, and we can’t wait.
