Capetonians are known to enjoy a rich pastry with their hot cup of coffee, and as this is a city fuelled by caffeine, many pastries are consumed.

We have many amazing bakeries in this city, and these are a few of Cape Town’s favourites:

Jason Bakery

This pioneering bakery is known for its delicious creation, the Doughssant, which sells out so quickly that it has to be pre-ordered.

Another firm favourite is the Filled Brioche Doughnut, which you can purchase from one of its three stores located in Green Point, Zonnebloem and the CBD.

Known as one of the Cape’s longest-standing bakeries, Limnos’ creations are something many of us enjoyed growing up. Be sure to try their light and zesty lemon meringue with a cup of coffee, and look out for their ‘cake of the day’ special each time you pass one – it will be worth every single cent.
