A lucky resident on their way to do some shopping was treated to a truly rare sight as a caracal strolled along the road in front of them.
Instead of being able to snap a picture of the elusive beauty, Rose Greyling Bilbrough was able to get a video of the stunning caracal as it walked slowly along the roadway.
She shared the video, filmed from her vehicle, with the caption, “Oh my Soul!! On my way to Wilderness for some shopping this morning and spotted this Caracal”.
In the video the curious caracal can be seen calmly walking along the road and peering into a nearby bush to look for prey.
Pictures of these shy creatures make their way onto social media every now and then but videos are far more rare:
