Public Service Announcement: The sun is finally starting to come out to play here in the Mother City after the past few days of rain. Just in time to end off the school holidays at Kirstenbosch, making the most of the Winter Wonders Special where children 17 years and younger enter the garden for free.
If you and the kids haven’t explored Kirstenbosch with all its enchantments yet, you are spoilt for choice with reasons to do so. Not only is there around 7000 plant species to see and an endless supply of perfect picnic spots. There’s a boomslang canopy that provides a tree top adventure and is only one of many attractions the botanical garden has to offer.
There are even dinosaurs at the Cycad Amphitheatre, in sculpture form.
Acclaimed as one of the great botanic gardens of the world, it’s simply a fact when Kirstenbosch says: “Few gardens can match the sheer grandeur of the setting of Kirstenbosch, against the eastern slopes of Cape Town’s Table Mountain.”
While you and your family are soaking up the scenery with its vibrant hues and fragrant flora, don’t forget to capture the moments and share them with the hashtag #mywinterwonders and tag Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter and stand a chance to win some very exciting prizes.
Click to check out their web page for more details on the prizes.
So grab your picnic blankets, pack in your favourite snacks, and bask in the winter sun this weekend!
