Sipping on a glass of crisp Sauvignon Blanc, surrounded by majestic scenery – the wind gently blowing while the birds sing their soulful tunes… Could anything be more ideal?
A perfect day for me comprises of heading out on a little adventure to check out some of the most beautiful wine estates in and around Cape Town writes Cape {town} Etc’s Micayla Vellai. And the recent level 4 lockdown certainly took its toll as I longed to be immersed in all of nature’s glory while enjoying the best wine on offer.
Wine tasting is definitely on my list of ‘favourite things to do’ and I usually spend hours relaxing on the grass, reading a good book or browsing through the gift shops that’s often on the same premises.
I am no wine connoisseur, but I tend to think of myself as an enthusiast, enjoying everything that the Mother City has to offer. And what’s so amazing about living in this breathtaking city is that there’s always a hidden gem to discover, someplace new to explore.
Here are four of my favourite wine estates to visit (and revisit):
Nestled in a secluded valley, high up on the slopes of the historic Constantia mountain range lies Eagles’ Nest, an absolute gem if ever there was one! A trip to this location means stunning views, serenity and quality wines. This might just turn into your new favourite spot!
