Thrift Fest is easily the highlight of the month for anyone who loves the thrill of a retro fashion adventure. Beyond being cost-effective, thrifting understands the assignment when it comes to joining the sustainable fashion cycle.
Here in Cape Town, we’re in no shortage when it comes to pre-loved stores. However, events like Thrift Fest are a calendar highlight for good reason. Multiple stalls, other creative curiosities up for purchase and different pop-up locations that make the perfect excuse for a little road trip.
This weekend, Thrift Fest is bringing its magic to two special spots in and around Cape Town. The surfing haven of Kommetjie at Imhoff Farm, and The Southern Suburb’s Wynberg at the Novalis Ubuntu Institute are both up for retro-loving for the last weekend of June.
Here’s what we have to look forward to:
The Wynberg run will see over 65 stalls in action, and an accumulation of vintage and newly made pieces.
As for the Kommetjie rodeo, 25 thrift and vintage stalls are teaming up with shops and restaurants of the Imhoff Farm, making for a wonderland of fashion and food in one of the Western Cape’s most famous surfing and kite-surfing hotspots.
