Social media recently fell in love with a tall glass of wine in the form of a man after Klein Roosboom Boutique Winery introduced their viticulturist, Nicol De Villiers.
As part of International Merlot Day and Men’s Health awareness during November (which is male health month), the Boutique Winery took to making a little social media post that went a long way – into the hearts of wine lovers who enjoyed the added vineyard visions.
“Today we celebrate a tremendous varietal – it is International Merlot Day and our Nicol Merlot is a firm favourite when guests enjoy our wine experience. We celebrate men’s health during November, so remember- the health benefits a glass or 2 of Merlot will offer,” Klein Roosboom Boutique Winery cheekily wrote.
Nicol De Villiers, the viticulturist (a term that refers to people with degrees in winemaking who develop, breed, research and evaluate grapes and are essentially wine scientists ) was the developer of the Nicol Merlot, aptly named after its creator.
Social media users thoroughly enjoyed the feature, with one user coyly offering the comment: “now I understand the attraction to this wine farm.”
As for the Durbanville winery, a few extra visitors who may have a sudden curiosity to venture into the vineyards may possibly be expected.
