I’ve always been fascinated by Greek Mythology, and the word Elysium is a particularly beautiful one for me writes Cape {town} Etc’s Lynn Cupido. Basically, Elysium, or the Elysium fields was the home of the blessed after death and is a word that’s often associated with a state of bliss or delight.
Well, there’s nothing more blissful, at least in my opinion, than chilling in a sprawling Camps Bay Villa while admiring the horizon in the distance – champagne included. Elysium is a gorgeous contemporary villa nestled on the foot of the Twelve Apostles, providing spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean, Lion’s Head and everything in between.
The spacious outdoor area is exactly what I imagine I would find on a Greek island. A cooshie outdoor sofa neatly placed alongside the swimming pool – the perfect outdoor seating area for those incredible Cape Town summers. There’s also a jacuzzi that can accommodate 10 people and a wooden outside dining table for those evenings you can’t be bothered to eat your dinner inside.
The interior space is an interesting blend of modern and beach vibe with a subtle hint of opulence that elevates the ambience of this space. Again, the decor is simple yet opulent, ensuring that the Mother City’s famed landscape filters through the tall glass windows located throughout the property. Additional features include a braai area and pool loungers with a sea view.
But what really makes this space heaven on earth is the housekeeping and concierge service. You won’t have to lift a finger during your stay as guests have the option to request a butler and/or chef service – is there anything more blissful than that?
