Fish Hoek residents were treated to an especially wonderful sight on August 5 as a large pod of dolphins happily swam by the little seaside suburb.

A large number of small grey-coloured dolphins were spotted frolicking in the mellow waters and playing with one another as they enjoyed the peaceful afternoon.

While passing by the bay, local photographer Chris Du Preez managed to snap a few pictures of the dolphins as they swam by. He estimate that there were roughly 30 to 40 dolphins.

Residents in the area enjoyed the sighting and De Preez noted that it was one of two that has taken place in recent weeks.
