The Jive Cape Town Funny Festival has been a much-loved event in the Mother City for over two decades, bringing together some of South Africa’s most admired comics and some of the world’s top variety acts.

The festival has become an annual antidote to the winter cold, taking place over June and July. Its unique blend of humour and entertainment has played to capacity audiences year after year.

Since its inception in 1997, the festival has showcased some of the country’s best comedic talent, offering something new and exciting each year.
The festival is held at the Baxter Theatre, a cultural landmark in Cape Town that has played host to some of the world’s most talented performers. This year’s lineup promises to be just as impressive, with a mix of local and international acts that are sure to have the audience in stitches.

Besides providing entertainment and showcasing Cape Town’s talent, the Funny Festival has also become a platform for social change. Over the years, the festival has raised funds for various charities, including the Red Cross Children’s Hospital and the Smile Foundation, making a real difference in the lives of those in need.
