So you’ve heard of downward dog but have you heard of downward cat? A local non-profit organisation is combining their love for rescue cats with their love for yoga to bring locals a very unique feline-style yoga experience.

The Lucky Lucy Foundation is a Registered Non-Profit that tries to relieve the plight of severely neglected and abused township and street animals. They are all about social upliftment and education of impoverished children and adults in and around Cape Town.

And now their beautiful location in Malmesbury is home to monthly yoga sessions held in their open cat garden where animal-lovers can visit friendly felines while stretching and de-stressing.

Interested yogis or those who are new to yoga can take part in cat yoga once a month and the dates are advertised on Lucky Lucy’s Cattery Page.

The yoga classes take a break over the more wintery months but the next session will be held over Mandela Day and after that monthly events will start up again on September 7, 2019.

Lucky Lucy is home to all sorts of cute cats and works hard year-round to ensure they are healthy and happy.
