We all love to see pictures of pure, white blanketing snow! Last week, the South African Weather Service released an alert for disruptive snowfall across the Western Cape, which predicted that snow would cover many of the province’s high-lying areas.

Cold and wet weather arrived in the Western and Northern provinces just after midday on Saturday, and the first snowfall landed on the high peaks of Ceres later that evening. Snow was also reported in Wellington, Worcester and Paarl.

Heavy snowfall was seen on the Cederberg and Hex River mountains, as well as the Boland mountain range, while a light dusting of snow was also visible on the Mother City’s pride and joy, Table Mountain.
