With festive season right around the corner, local shoppers won’t have to worry about standing in long queues, thanks to the convenience of online shopping. And those who enjoy a cold beer on a hot summer’s day, or a crisp glass of wine on a cool summer’s evening will have one more thing to smile about, because the Shoprite Group has launched an online liquor store.
LiquorShop Online means that customers are spoilt for choice with more than 3 000 drinks to choose from, and accessories such as wine glasses, and tumblers available for delivery nationwide.
According to Business Insider SA, the online store is an extension of its standalone liquor store, and the launch comes after its brick-and-mortar store was voted South Africa’s favourite liquor store.
“As with its physical stores, LiquorShop Online will focus on offering unbeatable value across a massive range. Products will retail at supermarket prices, and customers can link their Xtra Savings cards to benefit from deals online”, the retailer said on Monday.
Some of the premium products available include Limited Edition 23 Years Old Springbank Single Malt Scotch Whiskey with a R3,799 price tag. Or if you have a couple of extra bucks lying around, the Remy Martin Louis XIII Cognac could be all yours for a whopping R69,999.
The products will be sold at supermarket prices, and customers will be able to link their Xtra Savings cards to benefit from online deals, Business Tech explains.

Those who hail from the Western Cape and Gauteng can enjoy free delivery for orders over R450, while a R75 delivery fee will apply to orders less than this. Unfortunately, customers residing in other areas will have to pay a R150 delivery fee for orders less than R1000.
