Spotting an A-list celebrity in Cape Town is not uncommon and there is usually more than just one to find casually strolling through the city streets.

Celebrities who have been spotted throughout the Mother City recently include Ed Westwick of Gossip Girl fame, along with actor Gerard Butler.

Westwick, famous for playing bad boy Chuck Bass in Gossip Girl, has been spotted in Durban with South African girlfriend, model Tamara Francesconi. It is presumed the couple are simply enjoying a holiday.

He was then spotted at Locanda at Villa 47 on Bree Street on Tuesday afternoon, having a casual lunch.

Actor Gerard Butler has also been spotted in the city this week. According to sources, he took surfing lessons with the Surf Emporium in Muizenberg. He also worked with an organisation to adopt a puppy at the V&A Waterfront on Monday afternoon.

Butler seems to be enjoying travelling the world currently, as he celebrated his new year in the Himalayas.
