The Western Cape is expected to be in for some wild weather on Tuesday, September 1 and Wednesday, September 2. Icy cold weather is also expected to continue for the rest of the week.

According to the Afriwx Southern African Weather, Rainfall & Storm Reports Facebook pages, both the public and small stock farmers have been advised that cold conditions and rough seas are to be expected over this period.

“Heavy rain leading to localized flooding expected over the south-western parts of the Western Cape on Wednesday.”

“Gale to strong gale force E to SE winds (65-90 km/h) expected Tuesday along the coast between Table Bay and East London, including the adjacent coastal towns from the afternoon, becoming NW along the west coast of the Western Cape on Wednesday,” the page added.

Strong gale force north-westerly interior winds (65-80km/h) are expected over Cape Winelands, Overberg, Garden Route Districts of the Western Cape on Wednesday.”
