Widespread heavy rainfall is forecast for the Western Cape today, paired with chilly temperatures. Residents are reminded to be cautious while traveling in the rainy weather and to report any cases of flooding to the City.

Temperatures will continue to drop and some areas in the Western Cape, such as Matroosberg Nature Reserve, will even receive snow in the late hours of Thursday or early hours of Friday morning.

Ahead of today’s bountiful rains the Mother City’s dam levels are looking good at an overall 81.6%. While the weather may be challenging for some locals during their daily commutes today, there is hope that the dam levels will experience a significant increase.
