After a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the highly anticipated Shiraz & Charcuterie Festival is making a grand comeback.
Wine enthusiasts and food connoisseurs are eagerly awaiting the event, which is scheduled to take place this Saturday at the picturesque Anthonij Rupert Wyne Estate.
Recognised as one of South Africa’s premier wine festivals, the Shiraz & Charcuterie Festival tantalises the senses with the perfect pairing of exceptional Shiraz and Syrah wines alongside delectable platters of charcuterie and artisanal foods.

Organiser Darielle Robertson expressed her delight at the festival’s return, stating, ‘We’re really chuffed that it’s back on the calendar. The allure of some of the country’s top Shiraz and Syrah wines, complemented by scrumptious charcuterie and other artisanal foods, is too hard to resist for red wine lovers.’
The event boasts an impressive lineup of leading Shiraz and Syrah producers from across the country.
Attendees will have the opportunity to sample wines from renowned estates including Alto Wine Estate, Anthonij Rupert Wyne, Babylonstoren, Baleia Wines, Boun Courage Estate, Boschkloof Wines, Hartenberg Wine Estate, Holden Manz Wine Estate, Keemont Vineyards, Kleinood, La Motte Private Cellar, Simonsig, Stellenzicht Wines, Thelema Mountain Vineyards, Tokara and Waterford Estate.
In addition to the exceptional wines, the festival offers an array of charcuterie, cheeses and other artisanal foods available for purchase.
Visitors can explore a variety of offerings from esteemed vendors such as Begk’s Smoked Food, Joostenberg Bistro & Deli, Richard Bosman’s Quality Cured Meats and Wild Peacock Fine Food Merchants.
Creating a delightful ambiance, the talented duo, The Romantix, will provide live music throughout the day. Their enchanting melodies will enhance the relaxed and laid-back atmosphere, perfectly complementing a day spent savouring fine red wines in the charming Franschhoek Valley.

Each ticket for the festival includes a branded glass and grants attendees the opportunity to sample all the wines on offer. Guests under the age of 18 can attend free of charge, accompanied by an adult.
