The Alba in Cape Town is an exclusive fine dining floating restaurant experience.
Guests will be taken on a spellbinding tour through the fishing industry and yacht marina at the V&A Waterfront. With an enclosed deck of floor-to-ceiling glass windows, The Alba lets in those famous views of Table Mountain and the twinkling harbour as it cruises around the marina.
The lunch and dinner menus have classic dishes but also cater to tourists keen to sample SA game.
Baked camembert with figs and spiced walnuts, Karoo springbok carpaccio and citrus-cured salmon are on offer for starters. Mains are a choice between beef fillet medallions with roasted bone marrow jus and truffled mash, seabass with coriander and chilli and braised springbok shank with mash and caramelised onion.
The meals are Halaal friendly, and vegetarian and vegan options are available on request.
As for drinks, the Durbanville Hills Rhinofields range is available as a wine pairing with each course; alternatively, guests can order beers or soft drinks, inclusive in the price of the cruise experience.
Wi-Fi is available for those who wish to post envy-inducing Instagram photos.
A daily bubbly brunch cruise at 10am offers a cold and hot breakfast spread and bottomless bubbly (R495) and the lunch cruise at 1pm offers a three-course plated meal with wine pairing (R595).
At 4pm from Monday to Sunday, the afternoon cocktail cruise offers a selection of canapés, wine and cocktails (R595). Finally, the dinner cruise at 7pm offers a three-course plated meal with wine pairing (R695).
