The national lottery operator, ITHUBA, announced the last call for the R7.5 million Powerball Plus jackpot winner.
If you recently bought a ticket in Cape Town at Ravensmead Supermarket, cool millions could be waiting for you.
To be precise, the ticket yet to be claimed worth the R7 547 468 jackpot was purchased on December 3, 2021, and ITHUBA stated “winners have 365 days after the draw date to claim their prizes before they expire.”
Today, 11 November 2022, ITHUBA confirmed that the Powerball Plus jackpot remains unclaimed, and should the winner not claim the prize, the funds will be redirected to the National Lotteries Distribution Trust Fund for “reallocation to good causes.” This gives the winner less than a month to claim.
Speaking on behalf of ITHUBA, corporate specialist Lebogang Mokoena claims that the company’s efforts to locate the winner through social media posts, national and regional draw shows, and in-store where the ticket was purchased have been futile.
“We advertise the unclaimed prizes in the store where the ticket was sold, and we also advertise in the local vicinity and region,” said Mokoena.
