Kickstart the festive season on a fashionable high note at the annual Franschhoek Cap Classique & Champagne Festival, ‘The Magic of Bubbles’, presented by Sanlam Private Wealth.

One of SA’s premier social calendar highlights, this year’s event takes place over the weekend of  30 November and 1 December at the iconic Huguenot Monument.

And, with the Prosecco category booming in SA, for the first time ever,  you’ll find the world’s number one selling Prosecco, Mionetto, participating at this year’s prestigeous event.

Mionetto has been making high quality Prosecco since 1887 in the North of Italy and the house has become synonomous with a tradition of excellence and unmistakeable style.  Mionetto wine uses the Italian Charmat verification process which allows for a more crisp, light and delicate wine versus the classic French Champenoise method that provides a more powerful, structured platte.

Prosecco’s are lively, fruity, white wines that come from a protected area called the Prosecco DOC (which is quite close to Venis).  Mionetto grapes are known for their uniquely floral and fruity notes.

Tasting Notes:

Prosecco DOC Treviso Brut
A beautifully aromatic wine with notes of honey, black liquorice and acacia blossom.

Prosecco DOC Treviso Extra Dry
A smooth, crisp wine with a palate of acacia blossom, honey, and an unmistakable apricot fragrance.

Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Extra Dry
Inimitable aromas and flavours of green apple, acacia blossom, and full-flowering wisteria.
