About 80 loggerhead turtles that were washed up along the Western Cape coastline in the recent storms have been rescued.
The Two Oceans Aquarium Foundation took the turtles in for intensive care and advised residents and visitors to be on the lookout for stranded hatchlings.

The Turtle Conservation Centre rescues and rehabilitates hundreds of loggerhead turtle hatchlings every year.
The foundation is a registered non-profit and public-benefit organisation aimed at raising awareness about protecting the ocean through conservation, awareness, research and education.
The Two Oceans Aquarium has called on residents and visitors to help the team by dropping off clean, empty ice cream containers at the front desk.
These containers are used to isolate the hatchlings during the initial period of intensive care and are also used to transport the hatchlings after they are rescued.
To report any hatchling sightings to facilitate a rescue, contact 021 814 4544.
