It’s important to take some time out for yourself once in a while. If you do one thing this weekend, let it be to relax. You deserve it, heaven knows, you deserve way more. So take some time for yourself and give yourself a break this weekend. Here’s how.

1. Turn off your phone for an afternoon or evening

Yes, it is a thing. No, the world won’t crumble. Trust us, whatever it is, it can wait. You don’t have to be available to everyone, all the time.

2. Buy yourself something special

Just take the plunge! That dress you saw? That tattoo you want? Come on, tell us what it is. Is it a splurge? (That motorbike!) Or is it something simple (You’ve been wanting fresh flowers in your room for ages)? It’s now or never. Do this for you.

3. Reach out to your best friend

You may have been thinking about him or her, but never actually gotten to the point of picking up the phone. Check in and catch up. They’re probably missing you just as much! Arrange a coffee date and while away the hours like the good old days, or simply drop a voice note to give a life update, and hear back about theirs. It’s like honey for the soul.

4. Indulge in your favourite treat

Calories don’t count on weekends, so what’s stopping you? Say yes to the cake this one time. We won’t tell.

5. Sleep – and don’t set an alarm

Your body needs it, and so do your mind and emotions. You owe it yourself to get some proper shut-eye for once this weekend. Sleep in on a chilly morning or take a glorious nap. Don’t set an alarm either, let your body tell you when it’s time to wake up. You’ll feel like a million dollars.
