This year’s campaign, tagged ‘#BackOnTrack with School Libraries,’ focuses on how school libraries and available resources can help students rebound academically post-pandemic.
‘Reading and writing are crucial skills that must be mastered if our learners are to succeed in their school career and beyond, and having access to library resources at schools can make a real difference in improving learning outcomes,’ said Kerry Mauchline, spokesperson to David Maynier, the Western Cape’s provincial minister of education.
For the 2023 edition, the contest has been divided into two categories: a poetry contest for students in Grades 4 through 12, and a poster or drawing competition for those in Grades 1 to 3, including special schools.
