Fashion icon, Jackie Burger, presents Salon 58’s fifth soirée for 2015; entitled, ‘Magic’, and it promises to be a magical celebration of style.
Jackie Burger conceptualised Salon 58 in September 2012 during a visit to Mademoiselle Coco Chanel’s Parisian salon at 31 Rue Cambon. Jackie was inspired by the beautifully-curated space and in the spirit of France’s salonnières, she created Salon 58 as a space to meet and be entertained and informed with like-minded women.
These salonnières were places where creatives gathered to share ideas, and this tradition continues at Salon 58. Each event is themed, but always with a link to fashion, beauty, food and décor. A discussion about personal style and self-expression is always an integral part of these meetings, to help one cultivate a sense of identity beyond fashion.
Jackie is a woman who believes in her dreams. She is truly an inspiration, and one can learn a wealth of information from her many years of self-discovery and life filled with challenges and opportunities.
Soirée No. 5: Magic
The regular location for soirées is the P.J. Olivier Art Centre in Stellenbosch, but this magical edition will be held in a spectacular garden in the Winelands – yet to be announced. Jackie will be exploring the values of feasting and thanksgiving and the joy of rediscovering forgotten treasures. Along with her collaborators, she will present interactive creative sessions with a strong focus on up-cycling and repurposing.
Jackie will join guests in a conversation guided by design legend, Alayne Reesberg. There will be a show featuring eight local designers, each presenting magical dresses paired with Adidas sneakers. You’ll also have the opportunity to shop for local décor, fashion and lifestyle items.
