The Magic Company
From ten-pin bowling to laser tag and arcade games, The Magic Company at GrandWest Casino has a variety of activities to keep the young ones entertained. Parents and teens can also join in and tap into their inner child by racing on a superbike, shooting some hoops, or hitting a strike in ten-pin bowling. Get immersed in a virtual reality experience with the X Rider, try out the Lazer Zone or test your skills in a friendly game of ice hockey.

Cave Golf
Avid players of putt-putt – and even golfing newbies – will love this concept. Although short and compact, the Cave Golf course at the V&A Waterfront (by the Scratch Patch, near the aquarium) is well-designed and challenging enough to be enjoyed by everyone. The indoor setting makes it a perfect activity for any type of weather.

Rainbow Puppet Theatre
The Rainbow Puppet Theatre has delivered public performances for more than 30 years and is still going strong. The artistically painted theatre consists of five puppeteers, as well as full stage lighting and glove, rod and shadow puppets. The theatre typically performs well-known stories from Grimm’s Fairy Tales, such as Snow White and Rose Red, Little Red Riding Hood, The Frog Prince, and Hansel and Gretel. About 12 different tales are rotated on a regular basis, and although shows are mostly geared toward children, adults can also join in on the fun.

Blue Train Park
Over 60 years old, this site is the only beachfront miniature railway that has survived in South Africa – a true testament to its popularity. Along with its signature mini blue train, the Blue Train Park also has a mini skate park, cement push bike track, pedal push carts, a 30m zip-line, a long slide, see-saws, climbing rocks, two jungle gums, an obstacle course, and an astro turf soccer pitch! There is so much to do. A small kiosk offering a wide selection of delectable yummy treats and drinks is also on site.

Green Point Park
Perfect for picnics, walks, runs and some general relaxation, this family-friendly park is ideal for families looking to take it slow and get some fresh air. There’s plenty to do: an outdoor maze, an open field for the little ones to get rid of their excess energy, an amphitheatre, an outdoor gym and a play park. Green Point Park is safe and secure and features 25 000 indigenous trees, shrubs, bulbs and ground covers and 300 different plant species. Even the doggies are welcome – as long as they are on a leash.
