Women’s Day is an event that many women look forward to. So it’s a time for women to come together and have some drinks, laugh, play games, and of course, enjoy each other’s company.

Here’s three easy-to-mix cocktails you can make at home or enjoy pre-drinks to add an extra touch to your ladies night out:

1. Watermelon Margarita

This is a light and refreshing classic cocktail that will have your girls feeling good. The watermelon juice gives it an extra sweet taste without adding any sugar to the mix.  The crisp taste of this concoction will have you dreaming about poolside drinks all day long. Plus, who doesn’t love margaritas?

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Frozen watermelon
  • 1/2 cup Tequila
  • 1/4 cup Triple-sec
  • 1/3 cup Fresh lime juice
  • 1-2 tbsp Honey
  • 1 cup Crushed ice

How to make it:

  1. Cut up your watermelon and freeze it on a baking sheet for at least six hours. If you are making margaritas on the rocks, skip the freezing step.
  2. Add watermelon, tequila, triple sec, lime juice, honey, and ice to a blender. Leave out ice if making it on the rocks.
  3. Blend until completely smooth.

2. Pink Martini

Ingredients

  • Vodka – Use the classic vodka and make sure to get the brand that you like to drink.
  • Orange liqueur – Cointreau, Grand Marnier, or Triple Sec will work well here.
  • Cranberry Juice – 100% cranberry juice is the best choice.
  • Lime juice – fresh squeezed lime juice is the way to go.

How to make it:

  1. Chill the glass – it’s best to serve martinis ice cold so you will want to chill the glass first. Add a few ice cubes to each martini glass and then fill them with cold water. Let the glasses chill while you prepare the cocktail.
  2. Mix ingredients – add some ice cubes into the cocktail shaker and pour in vodka, orange liqueur, lime juice, and cranberry juice. Close the shaker well and shake vigorously for a few seconds.
  3. Pour cocktails – discard iced water from the martini glasses and pour the cocktail in through the strainer.
  4. Lime twist – to get the zest, peel off the outer green skin of the lime and try not to get any of the white part. White part of the rind tastes bitter so you don’t want to add that to your cocktail. Twist and squeeze the green peel over the cocktail. You will see some juice spritz out and oils surface. Rub the twisted lime peel over the rim of the martini glass and toss it into the cocktail.
