A brand new board game that allows you to play as a South African politician or celebrity, such as the Guptas, Helen Zille, Fikile Mbalula, Jacob Zuma, or Musi Mmaimane, has just been launched.

House of Cronies is a game of political influence, tactics, and corruption, in which players, referred to as ‘Party Members’, strive to win by filling their Cabinets, securing the most votes and undermining their opposition.

Three to four Party Members can play one game, and each must try to fill their Cabinet Portfolio with members, who they choose from a selection of 28 cards that includes the country’s most infamous political figures.

You can even choose a foreign ally, such as Donal Trump or Angela Merkel, to endorse your campaign.

The game mirrors and mocks the reality of corruption in South Africa, with players able to directly influence politicians in the game through bribery. In addition, there are opportunities to sabotage your opponents by launching Hawks investigations, sending them to the infamous Saxonwold Shebeen or ordering Cabinet reshuffles.

How far Party Members will go to win the election is up to them.

House of Cronies is available for purchase at Exclusive Books, Big Box Café and online at House of Cronies.
