Morning announcement from Big Concerts: You can see Pharrell Williams live in concert on 21 September 2015, and tickets go on sale THIS FRIDAY! I have definitely been busting out my happy dance since I found out!
It’s safe to say that the singer-songwriter and producer needs no introduction. Pharrell gave us ‘Happy’ and he is behind the most infectious tunes from Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky’ to Gwen Stefani’s ‘Hollaback Girl’ and even Snoop’s ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’. If you’re still not sure who I’m talking about, Pharrell is the guy everyone – from Justin Timberlake to Jay Z – goes to when they want to create a hit… basically. (Yes, I’m a fan!)
Pharrell has also been making waves on the fashion front for some time now, and has become an outspoken advocate for environmental conservation and the importance of education through his non-profit From One Hand To AnOTHER (FOHTA). This is the main reason behind Pharrell’s new close relationship with South Africa, with the concert really being just a cherry on top. Woolworths SA has teamed up with Pharrell Williams as their new Style Director to start a movement that focuses on improving education and raising environmental awareness.
The Woolworths Williams collaboration is all about competitions so you can win while creating change, from a T-shirt design competition to a school singing group competition. The winner of the school singing group competition will get to perform live with Pharrell on his SA tour. Click here to find out how to enter.
