Russell Peters, the Canadian king of international comedy, will return to South Africa in 2024 and is heading to Cape Town.

The stand-up comic, who is well-known among locals, will return to town for his three-city Russell Peters: Live tour.
Peters will perform at the Durban International Convention Centre on February 9, the SunBet Arena Time Square on February 10, and GrandWest in Cape Town on February 11.
His ability to connect with a diverse audience has earned him a place in the comedy hall of fame.
The international superstar recently completed his tenth stand-up special in Abu Dhabi.
Peters thanked his fans for their support on Instagram.
‘I’m fortunate enough to have been able to do comedy in Arenas since 2007… in this business you’re lucky if you get one arena tour, I’ve been lucky enough to have been in this position for the past 16 years… the industry never made me….’
‘The fans, the real people, the ticket buyers, YOU guys made me, and I’m forever thankful and grateful,’ he wrote.
He was also recently honoured with the 2023 Global Citizen Forum award, which is given to individuals or organisations who have made an outstanding and consistent contribution to the global citizenship movement.
Peters is a dedicated philanthropist, in addition to making the world laugh.

He established The Russell Peters North Peel Scholarship, which provides college tuition to disadvantaged, academically gifted students who would otherwise be unable to attend college.
He has paid for more than 20 students to attend college in his hometown of Brampton, Ontario, over the last decade.
Peters has a knack for weaving hilarious tales from his own life, from his early days performing in local clubs to becoming a global sensation.
With a career spanning decades, Peters has set attendance records at venues all over the world, was named one of Rolling Stone’s 50 Best Comics of All Time, released numerous comedy specials, and received numerous awards for his hosting, producing, and acting abilities.
During his visit to South Africa, fans can expect an interactive comedy experience with him tackling a variety of topics with his trademark wit and seasoned storytelling.
