This pass opens the door to Hollywood after a contestant greatly impresses the judges.
Benz, originally from Centurion in Johannesburg, did more than bring the house down.
He wowed the panel with an outstanding performance of the rendition of “One Last Cry” by Brian McKnight.
Judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie were blown off their feet. Bryan could not help but ask Benz to translate the phrase “you are going to Hollywood in Afrikaans” to which the Mzansi talent responded, “jy gaan Hollywood toe”.
Bryan and Perry gleefully repeated the statement one after the other.
Benz shared the magical moment that he says was a dream come true on his social media, writing, “Never thought I’d be teaching @katyperry and @lukebryan Afrikaans. 🇿🇦 Crazy!! can’t wait to show em what I can do”.
