The official trailer for the highly-anticipated documentary following the Springboks’ journey to glory during the 2023 Rugby World Cup has been released, offering Bokke fans a glimpse of what it took for our boys in green and gold to secure the title of back-to-back champions.

The documentary series, entitled Chasing The Sun 2, is the second of its kind following the massive success of the first edition which followed the Boks during the 2019 global event.
South African broadcaster SuperSport released the trailer of the docu-series sequel, inviting fans to ‘relive the captivating journey of a Springbok team that always finds a way, even when all seems lost’.
‘Chasing The Sun 2 is a story for South Africa,’ added SuperSport.
The trailer begins with a rousing and foul-mouthed speech from Springboks back-rower Pieter-Steph du Toit, followed by a voice-over from captain Siya Kolisi and commentators, as well as the squad being addressed by Rassie Erasmus and former head coach Jacques Nienaber.
The 1.5-minute trailer then features clips of goosebumps-inducing moments during the World Cup with interview snippets of hooker Bongi Mbonambi, fly-half Handre Pollard and assistant coach Mzwandile Stick.

In its announcement, SuperSport revealed that Chasing The Sun 2 will hit South Africa’s screens on 24 March 2024.
The trailer is the third sneak peek released by the broadcaster as hype for the series continues to build. The first featured captain Siya Kolisi speaking about the players coming from different backgrounds and uniting to fight for one goal.

The second featured interview snippets of former back rower Duane Vermeulen as well as Jesse Kriel, Steven Kitshoff, Canan Moodie, RG Snyman, Manie Libbok, Cheslin Kolbe and Damian Willemse.
