Plus-size model, Karoline Bjørnelykke has revealed that she had been asked to wear padding to model larger clothes than her actual size because companies wanted her neck and face to look slim and sharp.
According to News Week, the model further added that such jobs where she was not the size that the company needed to model the clothes, she would rock that padding underneath her garments.
“I’m a plus-sized model,” explained Karoline Bjørnelykke, adding that most brands she modelled for carried sizes between an XL and 5XL. “If you have eyes, you can see that I’m not that size.”
Bjørnelykke is a well-known model who walked the runway for Louis Vuitton and Armani, reports Insider.
Karoline said in the TikTok video that she’s asked to bring padding to work for some plus-size brands and revealed to viewers how she assembles the pieces on her body.
The video has left many viewers stunned and others indicating a need for change.
“This explains the midsections that never make sense,” a user commented.
“Jesus Christ, this is why I’m so self-conscious about my face shape,” said another.
“Wow this really messed up my self-esteem as a teen,” added another viewer.
