Following its great success last year, Luciano Monosilio, the King of Carbonara, is back for another unique unveiling of his latest dishes at Scala Pasta Bar, the award-winning home to ‘the best table in town’ when it comes to Italian culture and cuisine.
For one night only, Scala is hosting a set menu and wine pair – A Night with Luciano – that will have you feeling transported to the heart of Italy, dining first-hand at Luciano’s restaurant in Rome, at a fraction of the travel cost.
Set to take place at 7pm on Tuesday, 23 January 2024, pasta enthusiasts will be treated to an exclusive five-course meal carefully curated by the Michelin-starred master chef himself, accompanied by two wine tastings per course – one local wine and one Italian wine – all for R1395.
Secure your seat on Dineplan for a taste of pasta made differently; after all, this is ‘not your mamma’s pasta’.
A bit about Luciano Monosillo:
In Cape Town from 19 to 23 January, the pasta ambassador, affectionately known across the globe as the King of Carbonara, is one of the youngest Italian chefs to have been awarded the Michelin Star, at the tender age of 27.
He has gained popularity for having codified the recipe of his cult dish, the Signature Carbonara, whose modern technique has now forcefully entered everywhere.
Chef Monosilio’s cooking philosophy lays the foundation for a deep knowledge of raw materials and strong technical skills. He gained international fame thanks to pasta-based dishes, a cornerstone of Italian tradition, such as his carbonara, now widely recognised worldwide.
Luciano merges both tradition and innovation: a fusion between unconventional and unusual combinations of chefs’ experiences around the world and hints of ancient origins and ingredients, dating back to the heritage of Roman times.
