AfrikaBurn is not your typical festival; while it features music, art, dance and activities, it is wholly created and run by its attendees and volunteers. There is no exchange of money at the event and everything works on a gifting system.
The festival is located in Tankwa Town, a temporary settlement situated on Quaggafontein Farm in the Karoo region of the Western Cape.
AfrikaBurn is an event that features various art projects based on a specific theme each year. This year, the theme was ‘Space’, which provided attendees with an immersive experience of travelling through multiple universes and uncharted territories by crossing a radiant wormhole and ultimately discovering the marvels of the cosmos.
