The music concert, Calabash South Africa, will be hosted at Cape Town’s DHL Stadium this evening.
Residents and visitors should be aware of some road closures and traffic control measures surrounding the stadium:
Gates will open at 2pm, and the concert will end at midnight.
Road closures:
- Vlei Road off Helen Suzman Boulevard: Closed from 6am to 1am.
- Fritz Sonnenberg Road from Bay Road: This stretch, adjacent to the golf course, will be closed from 6am to 1am. Golf course access will remain available.
- Fritz Sonnenberg Road at McDonald’s: This section near McDonald’s will be closed from 6am to 1am. Access to McDonald’s remains.
- A Track Sports Ground: Access will be controlled throughout the day, from 6am to 1am.
Traffic control measures:
- Granger Bay Boulevard: Remains open but with a single-lane closure to accommodate pedestrian traffic from Helen Suzman Boulevard to Beach Road.
- Bay Road: Access will be controlled to facilitate access to the golf course, sports fields and residential areas.
