The NSRI extended praise to Botha for her accomplishment, saying: ‘A massive shoutout to the phenomenal Jane Botha for her extraordinary achievement; swimming an incredible 74 km and raising R18000 for the NSRI is nothing short of remarkable. We couldn’t be prouder of your dedication and determination.’
Botha joined the NSRI’s Station 23 as a trainee crew member over a year and a half ago, unaware at the time of how much this choice would influence her life.
‘On that day, I found my home away from home,’ said Botha. ‘From then on, I have made endless friendships and have met the most extraordinary mentors that I’m so glad to now call family.’
