South Africa’s Thabang Mosiako stole the show at the Totalsports Two Oceans Half Marathon this morning finishing first in a blistering 1:04:40.

He was followed less than a minute later by Lesotho’s Kamohelo Mofolo while South Africa’s George Kusche came in moments later in a time of 1:05:32.
Mosiako got off to a good start, reaching the 5km mark in 16 minutes in excellent conditions. He continued to dominate at a pace marginally over three minutes to the kilometres to reach the finish line at UCT.

The 29-year-old recently became the second fastest South African over the half-marathon distance, finishing sixth in 59:52 at the World Athletics Road Running Championships in Latvia.

The women’s event also ended with two South Africans on the podium after Lesotho’s Mokulubete Makatis claiming the race in 1:13:52 in a narrow victory over Clan Oldknow, 11 seconds adrift.
Bianca Tarboton finished third in a time of 1:19:26.
