The event will feature local artists in the fields of painting, music, poetry, dance, and sculpture, inviting participants to immerse themselves in an artistic journey through exhibitions, performances, workshops and cultural events.

Harmonies of heritage
The Castle of Good Hope’s courtyard will come alive with a blend of music, dance and flavours, featuring local artists, performers and South African culinary delights.

From page to stage: A poetry masterclass
Bulelwa Basse, the founder of the Lyrical Base Project, will guide these poetry workshops. The sessions invite active participation, encouraging aspiring poets to explore and experiment with various poetic elements, share ideas and co-create meaningful, evocative verses.
The event also features a live performance on the main stage, an ode to the collective poetic expression nurtured throughout the workshops.

Enchanted tales and artsy trails
Fatima Dike, the South African playwright and theatre director known as the ‘Mother of South Africa’s Drama,’ will reveal a world of creativity through storytelling, magic shows and workshops.
Bridging boundaries workshop
Here, festivalgoers can delve into the theme of ‘Reimagining Cape Town Arts and Culture with Martin Myers from MusixXchange’ by exploring a dialogue that interweaves arts, culture and music, envisioning innovative approaches to enrich our creative landscape.
Myers is a University of Cape Town alumnus and the visionary behind the NPC Music Exchange.
Shine dance competition
For this event, the Cape Town Arts Festival has partnered with the Human Rights Commission to invite all Omajivana dancers from neighbouring communities in Cape Town.
Renowned choreographer Stoan Galela will guide the event, and the Human Rights Commission has commissioned an original Gqom dance track (named ‘Shine’) to serve as the theme song.
The winners will perform at the prize-giving ceremony during the Sunday celebrations at the Castle of Good Hope.
