Elon Musk is a South African with a big wallet and even bigger personality. Did the the billionaire get it from his mama? Perhaps so. She’s just become the oldest model to grace a Sports Illustrated (SI) Swimsuit cover.
Maye Musk looks sensational in a gorgeous, bright orange one-piece. Did we mention that she’s 74 years old?
She rocks Colombian designer Maygel Coronel’s swimsuit on the cover. Sharing the shots on Instagram, the Canadian-born supermodel says, “It’s about time!”. The picture was taken by legendary photographer (and veteran SI genius) YuTsai Host.
The shoot took place in the South American country of Belize – and everything was top secret. “I wasn’t allowed to tell anyone. Nobody knew,” she told the New York Post. Well, consider us startled in the best way possible.

Maye doesn’t just look gorgeous. She’s reminding people everywhere that every body, at every age, is a bikini/beach body. “I think women of all ages … they’re scared of ageing, and they’re scared they won’t look good in a swimsuit. So now you know that I’m setting an example so women can walk freely in swimsuits and not worry about it.”
Maye is one of four cover girls for the latest Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition. The campaign is all about “being the change you want to see”. Kim Kardashian, Ciara and Yumi Nu also feature in this edition.
“In this issue, we encourage readers to see these models as we see them: multifaceted, multitalented—and sexy while they’re at it,” says says SI Swimsuit editor in chief MJ Day.
