Two people were left injured in an explosion that took place in Woodstock last night.
A fire broke out at 8pm at a building on the corner of Plein and Victoria Streets, which further turned into an explosion.
According to MMC for Safety and Security JP Smith, the cause of the explosion is still unknown at this stage, but several reports suggest it may have been a gas leak. However, Smith added that further information would be released as it became available.
Two male victims, including the owner of the building, sustained serious burn wounds, which are estimated to be between 70% to 100% of their bodies, leaving them critically injured.
