The fire above Boyes Drive in Pecks Valley was contained in the early hours of this morning, but there are still hot spots demanding attention.
A new crew of firefighters will be sent to the scene this morning to attend to any flare-ups.

At least 70 firefighters from TMNP- NCC Wildfires as well as Volunteer Wildfire Services, and a standby fire crew from the City of Cape Town worked tirelessly through the night and early hours of this morning battling the blaze which was finally extinguished just before 5am.
TMNP Fire Manager, Mr Justin Buchmann, expressed gratitude, stating, ‘A big thank you to the TMNP NCC Wildfires and Volunteer Wildfire Services crews who worked the lines late last night, as well as the City of Cape Town Fire and Rescue and City Disaster Management, who provided their drone and assisted in refilling our tankers.’
In the interest of everyone’s safety, hikers are urged to avoid hiking trails around Pecks Valley.
