Ten people, including a 17-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl, were killed in separate incidents in Cape Town over the course of the weekend, leaving the police with their hands full.

The latest incident occurred in Hout Bay, where four men were gunned down in a shack in Mandela Square, Hout Bay on Saturday evening.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Novela Potelwa said the motive for the shooting is unknown at this stage.
Details concerning the deceased persons are yet to be released as investigations continue.
Also on Saturday evening, a teenager and two men died after being attacked in Heinz Park in the Samora Machel policing precinct near Philippi.
It’s alleged that unknown gunmen travelling in a car shot one victim multiple times, stabbed another and hit a third victim with a brick.
The men, aged between 17 and 51, died on the scene and a fourth person, who was shot in the back, was transported to a medical facility for treatment.
Potelwa said no arrests have been made as yet, adding that the Serious Violent Crimes Unit is probing both incidents.
Meanwhile, the body of a 21-year-old man was found with gunshot wounds just after 4am in Cascade Road in Tafelsig on Saturday morning.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg said ‘the victim was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel. The motive for the attack is gang-related, and a murder case was registered’.
On Friday morning, 15-year-old Zarrah Jackson was shot while walking to a shop on Rywood Road in Hanover Park, in what police believe is also a gang-related incident.
Jackson was killed along with another person.
Twigg said police arrived on the scene after 8am following reports of a teenage caught in crossfires between rival gangs.
‘Jackson was taken to a medical facility for treatment, where she was declared deceased due to the injury sustained to her neck,’ added Twigg.
Over the course of the weekend, two suspects aged 23 were arrested and were set to appear in the Athlone Magistrate’s Court on a charge of murder today.
